1.1 Sexual Health
Services of AFRO Clinic (July 2007 - June
2011)
With the sponsorship
from the Hong Kong AIDS Trust Fund and the
support from the School of Public Health and
Primary Care of the Chinese University of Hong
Kong, in July 2007, AFRO began to provide
sexually transmitted infections (STIs) screening
tests and basic gynecology tests to female sex
workers in Hong Kong.
Until June 2011,
around 1300 female sex workers have used our
sexual health services for 2900 times. Among
them, one quarter have one or more than one kind
of STIs, such as Chlamydia (14.4%) and Syphilis
(3.9%) etc, or abnormal Pap’s smear (7.1%)
detected on their first

2 FUTURE
ACTIVITIES
2.1 AFRO Charity
Walkathon 2011
Over the past years, the
charity walkathon has become an important annual
fund-raising event of AFRO. This year, AFRO will
hold the event on 6 Nov 2011. The money raised
in this walk will be used to cover
administration costs of our drop-in centre and
office.
This is also a great opportunity
for us to get together with our members, friends
and supporters to spend a fresh and crisp autumn
morning on the peak.

AFRO’s Annual Charity
Bazaar will be held on 4 Dec this year. If you
